Why I Do What I Do – The Heart Behind the Hustle

By Jermaine Streeter

People see the reps, the drills, the long days in the gym and the late nights on the field. They see the whistle, the weight plates, the game plans.

What they don’t always see is the why.

I don’t do this for a paycheck.
I don’t do this to build a brand.
I do this because I believe God called me to build people.

As a Marine, I was trained to lead with discipline, clarity, and courage. But it was my faith that taught me to lead with heart, humility, and eternal purpose.

Now, as a coach and mentor, I carry both with me, every time I show up for these athletes.

I’ve seen too many young men with raw talent, but no direction. Too many youth with potential, but no one to pull it out of them.
Too many voices telling them what they can’t be.
Not enough voices showing them what they could become, with faith, work, and someone in their corner.

That’s where I step in.

I do this because I know what it’s like to need structure.
I do this because I’ve lived what it means to rise from pressure.
I do this because I’ve been poured into, and now it’s my turn to pour out.

I don’t just train athletes.
I develop warriors.
I sharpen character.
I coach with eternity in mind.

I do it for the one kid who’s on the edge of quitting.
I do it for the one who’s never been told he’s capable.
I do it for the next generation of leaders, on the field, in the community, and in the Kingdom.

Because, if I can use what God gave me, my experience, my discipline, my scars, to lift someone else, that’s a win that doesn’t fade with the scoreboard.

That’s my why.
That’s my mission.
That’s JS Sports Training.
